About the Practice
Specializing in work with LGBTQIA+ young, middle-aged and older adults
“A strong therapeutic alliance is one of the most important predictors of positive treatment outcomes and adherence to healthcare professional recommendations.”
–Dorothy E Stubbe, The Therapeutic Alliance: The Fundamental Element of Psychotherapy
The rapport clients and therapists build together is what makes therapy so successful. That’s why we take our time developing a unique relationship grounded in mutual respect, empathy, and a nonjudgmental attitude. Every client is unique with unique needs, and our job is to make sure you are seen as the individual you are and receive the treatment you deserve.
-
The work begins with curiosity. Curiosity leads to understanding, compassion, and empathy. These are the core tenets of our work and we take them seriously. When these elements have been achieved, it becomes easier to share your story with us.
-
Our team relies on various theoretical frameworks including: Psychodynamic-relational Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Humanistic, Person-Centered, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused therapies. We remain true to our ethics and provide services that are within our scope of practice. If you require specialized forms of care, we will connect you to that help.

Whether you’re pursuing college, in college, or transitioning to life after college, we can help. Young adults experience twice the rates of anxiety and depression as teens. They often feel a lack of a sense of meaning or purpose. Sometimes, they believe the world around them is unraveling, and struggle with a pervasive sense of loneliness. For more information about the issues young adults face today, check out this report by Making Caring Common here On Edge: Understanding and Preventing Young Adults’ Mental Health Challenges.
